The Oregon Ducks had a big win over the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday night, 84-70. The Ducks were led by a strong performance from their two stars, Chris Couisnard and Eric Oquendo.
Couisnard had a huge night, scoring 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting. He also had four rebounds and four assists. Couisnard was a force on both ends of the floor, making plays on offense and playing solid defense.
Oquendo was also impressive, scoring 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. He also had seven rebounds and three assists. Oquendo was a key contributor to the Ducks’ victory, as his ability to score in the paint and hit shots from the outside kept the Golden Flashes off balance.
The Ducks were able to pull away in the second half, outscoring Kent State 52-36 after halftime. Oregon shot an impressive 53.3 percent from the field and held Kent State to just 36.7 percent shooting.
The Ducks have now won three straight games and are looking to make a run at the Pac-12 title. With Couisnard and Oquendo leading the way, Oregon looks like a team that could make some noise in the conference tournament.
Saturday’s win was a great example of how good this Oregon team can be when they play together. Couisnard and Oquendo both had big nights, but it was the team effort that made the difference in this one. The Ducks will need to keep up this level of play if they want to make a deep run in the Pac-12 tournament.
