On Tuesday night, the Chicago State Cougars pulled off an upset victory over No. 25 Northwestern, winning 75-73. The Cougars were led by Wesley Cardet Jr. who scored a career-high 30 points, including a clutch three-pointer with just seconds remaining in the game.

The Cougars had trailed by as many as 15 points in the second half, but Cardet Jr. and his teammates refused to give up. The Cougars went on a 10-0 run late in the game to take the lead and never looked back. Cardet Jr. also had four rebounds and two assists in the win.

The win was a huge upset for the Cougars, who had lost their previous five games and had not beaten a ranked opponent since 2012. It was also the first time the Cougars had beaten Northwestern since 1997.

Cardet Jr. was not the only Cougar to have a big night. Senior guard David Sims scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while junior forward Michael Diggins had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The win was a huge confidence boost for the Cougars, who have struggled this season but now have a chance to make some noise in the conference tournament. With Cardet Jr. leading the way, the Cougars could be a team to watch out for in the coming weeks.
