The Boise State Broncos pulled off a thrilling 63-60 victory over the Saint Mary’s Gaels on Saturday night. The game was a close one throughout, with the Broncos leading by just one point at halftime. However, Boise State was able to pull away in the second half thanks to a stellar performance from senior guard Justin Degenhart.
Degenhart was the star of the show, finishing with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. He also added four rebounds and three assists while playing a team-high 37 minutes. Degenhart was especially clutch down the stretch, scoring seven of the Broncos’ final nine points to secure the win.
The rest of the Boise State roster also played well, with five other players scoring in double figures. Senior forward Abu Kigab led the way with 14 points and seven rebounds, while junior guard Derrick Alston Jr. added 11 points and three assists. Junior forward Marcus Dickinson chipped in 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
The Gaels were led by junior guard Jordan Ford, who scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Senior forward Malik Fitts added 13 points and seven rebounds, while junior guard Tanner Krebs chipped in 10 points and four assists.
The win was an important one for Boise State, as it improved their record to 12-3 on the season. The Broncos will look to continue their winning ways when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs on Wednesday night. With Degenhart leading the way, Boise State has a good chance of coming away with another victory.
