The Waves got off to a hot start, taking a 10-point lead into the half. They maintained that lead throughout the second half, with Ross leading the way. He was efficient from the field, shooting 8-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
The Waves also got strong contributions from forward Kameron Edwards, who had 17 points and seven rebounds, and guard Skylar Chavez, who had 12 points and five assists. The Waves shot an impressive 51.7 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range.
The Bengals were led by forward Robert Ford, who had a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds. Guard Chier Maker added 13 points and four assists, while guard Malik Porter had 11 points and four rebounds.
The Waves’ defense was the difference in this game, as they held the Bengals to just 37.3 percent shooting from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range. The Waves also out-rebounded the Bengals 37-29.
This was an impressive win for the Waves, who continue to show why they are one of the top teams in the West Coast Conference. They will look to continue their winning ways as they take on San Diego on Thursday.
