The LSU Tigers have done it again! On Saturday, the Tigers defeated Niagara in the Cayman Classic without their star player, Reese.
The game started off with a bang as the Tigers jumped out to an early lead. They were able to maintain their lead throughout the game and eventually won by a score of 72-63.
Despite not having Reese, the Tigers were still able to come away with the win. They were led by freshman forward Trendon Watford who had a career-high 24 points and 11 rebounds. Watford was joined by senior guard Javonte Smart who had 14 points and four assists.
The Tigers played great defense throughout the game, holding Niagara to just 37% shooting from the field. They also outrebounded Niagara 44-32.
This win was a great way for the Tigers to start off their season. It was also a great way to show that they can still win without their star player, Reese.
The Tigers will now look to continue their success as they take on South Alabama on Tuesday. With or without Reese, the Tigers look poised to have another successful season.
