The Portland Trail Blazers ended their eight-game losing streak with a 121-105 win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night. The Blazers had been struggling since the All-Star break, but they finally got back on track with a strong performance against the Jazz.
Damian Lillard led the way for the Blazers, scoring a game-high 33 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. He also added seven assists and four rebounds in the victory. CJ McCollum chipped in with 22 points, while Jusuf Nurkic had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blazers were able to take control of the game early on, leading by as many as 17 points in the first half. They were able to maintain their lead throughout the second half, despite a late surge from the Jazz.
The Jazz were led by Donovan Mitchell, who had a team-high 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field. Rudy Gobert also had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
The win was an important one for the Blazers, who are now just two games out of the eighth seed in the Western Conference. With just over a month left in the regular season, the Blazers will need to continue to play well if they want to make the playoffs.
The Blazers will now look to build on this win as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. It will be another tough test for the Blazers, but if they can keep up their recent form, they should be able to come away with another win.
