In a thrilling game between Creighton and Loyola Chicago, Creighton pulled away with an 88-65 victory. The Bluejays had a strong start to the game, thanks in large part to the early contributions of freshman guard Denzel Scheierman.
Scheierman had a career-high 18 points in the win, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 4-of-7 from behind the arc. He also added four rebounds and two assists in the victory. His strong performance helped the Bluejays jump out to an early lead and they never looked back.
The rest of the Creighton team also played well, with four other players scoring in double figures. Marcus Zegarowski led the way with 21 points, while Damien Jefferson added 14 points and seven rebounds. Christian Bishop and Mitch Ballock also chipped in with 10 points apiece.

The Ramblers struggled to keep up with Creighton’s offensive attack, shooting just 41.2 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range.
The win was a big one for Creighton, as it improved their record to 12-3 on the season. They will look to continue their strong play when they face off against Xavier on Saturday. For Loyola Chicago, they will look to rebound from the loss when they take on DePaul on Wednesday.
