Geno Smith Exits Rams Matchup with Right Elbow Injury

NFL, Seahawks, Sports Seattle

It was a disappointing day for the Los Angeles Rams and their fans as quarterback Geno Smith exited the team’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks with a right elbow injury. Smith had been playing well up until the injury, completing 10 of his 14 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.

The injury occurred late in the first quarter when Smith was hit by Seahawks defensive end Rasheem Green. Smith immediately grabbed his right elbow and was taken to the locker room for evaluation. After the game, Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed that Smith had suffered an elbow injury and would be further evaluated.

This is a tough blow for the Rams, who were already without starting quarterback Jared Goff due to a thumb injury. With Smith out, the Rams will now turn to backup quarterback John Wolford to lead the offense. Wolford has yet to make an NFL start, but he did appear in one game last season, completing 4 of 8 passes for 45 yards.

The Rams will now have to hope that Smith’s injury isn’t too serious and that he can return to action soon. In the meantime, they will have to rely on Wolford to keep their playoff hopes alive. It will be an uphill battle for the Rams, but they have shown in the past that they can overcome adversity.
