The Seattle Kraken are breathing a sigh of relief after forward Jordan Eberle made a quick recovery from a skate cut that threatened to keep him out of the lineup for an extended period of time.
Eberle, who was acquired by the Kraken in the offseason, was injured during a practice session on October 6th. He was cut by a teammate’s skate blade and had to be taken off the ice. Initial reports suggested that the injury could keep him out for an extended period of time, but after further evaluation it was determined that the injury was not as serious as initially feared.
The Kraken were relieved to hear that Eberle would not miss any significant time. The 30-year-old forward is an important part of the team’s offense, having scored at least 20 goals in each of his last five seasons. He also brings a veteran presence to the locker room, having played in over 700 NHL games.
Eberle returned to practice on October 8th and has been cleared to play in the team’s season opener against the Arizona Coyotes on October 9th. He is expected to be in the lineup and should provide a boost to the Kraken’s offense.
The Kraken are hoping that Eberle can stay healthy for the rest of the season and help them reach their goal of making the playoffs in their inaugural season. With his quick recovery from the skate cut, they are one step closer to achieving that goal.
