The University of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team pulled off a thrilling victory against the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night, winning 89-84. Freshman center Hunter Dickinson was the star of the show, leading the way with 25 points and 8 rebounds.
The Jayhawks started off strong, taking a 10-point lead into halftime. Kentucky fought back in the second half, cutting the lead to just two points with 7 minutes left in the game. But Dickinson and the Jayhawks held their ground, outscoring Kentucky 17-12 in the final minutes to secure the victory.
Dickinson was a force to be reckoned with in the post, shooting 11-of-14 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. He also added two blocks and one steal to his impressive stat line. Senior guard Marcus Garrett was also instrumental in the win, scoring 19 points and dishing out 6 assists.
The Jayhawks have now won four straight games and are off to a great start in Big 12 play. With Dickinson leading the way, they look poised to make a deep run in March Madness.
