Novak Djokovic has done it again. The Serbian tennis star has clinched the year-end No. 1 ranking for a record 8th time, receiving the trophy from the ATP Tour.

Djokovic, 33, is the first player in history to finish the year as the world’s top-ranked player eight times. He has now achieved the feat in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The Serbian star has been in remarkable form this year, winning five titles including the Australian Open and the ATP Finals. He also reached the finals of the French Open and the US Open.

Djokovic’s success this year was particularly impressive given the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. He was forced to miss several tournaments due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.

However, Djokovic was able to stay focused and maintain his high level of play throughout the year. He finished with a record of 37-7 in 2020, with his only losses coming against Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem.

The Serbian star has now won a total of 17 Grand Slam singles titles, putting him just two behind Roger Federer’s record of 20. He is also just one title away from tying Pete Sampras’ record of 286 weeks at No. 1 in the rankings.

Djokovic’s success this year is a testament to his incredible talent and dedication to the sport. He is sure to continue to be a dominant force in tennis for years to come.
