The Atlanta Hawks pulled off a thrilling victory in Mexico City on Tuesday night, defeating the Orlando Magic 120-119. Trae Young led the way for the Hawks with 41 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Jamal Murray’s go-ahead 3-pointer with 14.7 seconds left proved to be the difference maker.
Young was electric throughout the game, scoring in a variety of ways. He was able to get to the rim and finish through contact, as well as knock down several deep 3-pointers. His 41 points were a career-high for the second-year guard, and he also added 8 assists and 5 rebounds.
The Magic had a chance to win the game late, but Evan Fournier’s 3-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out. Nikola Vucevic led the Magic with 32 points and 16 rebounds, while Terrence Ross added 22 points off the bench.
The Hawks were able to pull off the win despite missing several key players due to injury. John Collins and De’Andre Hunter both missed the game with ankle injuries, while Kevin Huerter was out with a shoulder injury.
