It is with great sadness that we report that New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has suffered a torn ACL in his right knee and will be out for the remainder of the season.
The injury occurred in the third quarter of the Giants’ game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Jones was scrambling for a first down when he was tackled from behind and his knee buckled. He was immediately taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.
The Giants have since confirmed that Jones has suffered a torn ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season. This is a huge blow to the Giants, who were hoping to make a playoff run this year.
Jones had been playing well this season, throwing for 2,374 yards and 15 touchdowns in 10 games. He had also been developing a strong connection with wide receiver Darius Slayton, who had become one of the most productive receivers in the league.
The Giants will now turn to veteran quarterback Colt McCoy, who has been with the team since 2019. McCoy has not started a game since 2018, but he is familiar with the Giants’ offense and should be able to provide some stability at the position.
This is a difficult situation for both Jones and the Giants, but they will have to move forward without their starting quarterback. We wish Jones a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the field soon.
