The Pittsburgh Steelers edged out the Tennessee Titans in a thrilling 20-16 victory on Sunday. The game was decided late in the fourth quarter when quarterback Ben Roethlisberger connected with wide receiver Hines Ward for a touchdown pass. The game-winning score was set up by a spectacular catch by tight end Heath Miller, who made a leaping grab of a Roethlisberger pass to put the Steelers in position to score.
The Titans had taken the lead early in the fourth quarter on a touchdown pass from Vince Young to wide receiver Justin Gage. But the Steelers defense held firm and forced the Titans to punt with just over two minutes remaining.
The Steelers then drove down the field, with Roethlisberger completing several key passes to move the ball into scoring position. With just seconds remaining, Roethlisberger found Ward in the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.
The Steelers defense was stellar throughout the game, limiting the Titans to just 16 points. Linebacker James Farrior led the way with 11 tackles and two sacks. Safety Troy Polamalu also had a strong game, recording seven tackles and an interception.
The Steelers offense was led by running back Willie Parker, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. Roethlisberger also had a solid performance, completing 22 of 34 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
The win was the Steelers’ fourth straight and improved their record to 8-3. The Titans dropped to 5-6 and are now in danger of missing the playoffs.
The Steelers will look to continue their winning ways next week when they face the Cleveland Browns. The Titans will try to get back on track when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
