Nico Lodeiro, the Uruguayan midfielder for the Seattle Sounders, is ready to make a final push for the MLS Cup playoffs. After a successful regular season, the Sounders are now in the Western Conference semifinals and Lodeiro is determined to make the most of the opportunity.
“I’m ready for this moment,” Lodeiro said. “I’m very excited to be here and I’m looking forward to helping my team get to the MLS Cup.”
Lodeiro has been a key player for the Sounders since joining the team in 2016. He has been a leader both on and off the field, providing a calming presence in the locker room and a creative spark on the pitch. He has also been a consistent contributor in the attack, scoring 10 goals and adding 11 assists in 2019.
The Sounders have been one of the most successful teams in MLS history, winning the MLS Cup in 2016 and reaching the finals in 2017 and 2019. Lodeiro is confident that the team can make another deep run this year.
“We have a great team and we have a lot of experience,” Lodeiro said. “We know what it takes to win and we’re going to do everything we can to make it happen.”
Lodeiro is no stranger to big moments, having won the Copa America with Uruguay in 2011 and leading his country to the World Cup semifinals in 2018. He is now focused on helping the Sounders reach their ultimate goal of winning an MLS Cup.
“I’m ready for this moment,” Lodeiro said. “I’m going to do everything I can to help my team win and I’m confident that we can do it.”
The Seattle Sounders have a tough road ahead of them as they prepare for their final MLS Cup playoff run. But with Nico Lodeiro leading the way, they have a chance to make history once again.
