The New York Giants suffered a tough loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, but the biggest losses may have been to their two key players, Tyrod Taylor and Darren Waller.
Taylor, the Giants’ starting quarterback, was forced out of the game in the second quarter after suffering a rib injury. He was replaced by backup Colt McCoy, who was unable to lead the team to a win.
Waller, the Giants’ leading receiver, also left the game in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury. He had already caught four passes for 40 yards before leaving the game.
The injuries to Taylor and Waller are a major blow to the Giants’ offense. Taylor had been playing well this season, throwing for 1,073 yards and five touchdowns in the first four games. Waller had been one of the team’s most reliable targets, catching 18 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
The Giants will now have to rely on McCoy and other receivers to make up for the loss of Taylor and Waller. It will be a difficult task, but the team is confident that they can still make a run at the playoffs.
Injuries are always difficult to overcome, but the Giants will have to do their best to make up for the loss of Taylor and Waller if they are going to have any chance of success this season.
