On Saturday, April 17th, Seattle Pacific University’s Annika Esvelt won the Women’s Race at the Emerald City Open in Seattle, Washington. This was a huge accomplishment for the young runner, who is only a freshman at SPU.
Esvelt finished the 5K race in a time of 18 minutes and 10 seconds, beating out the second-place finisher by nearly two minutes. She was the only female runner to finish in the top five overall, and her time was the fastest among all female competitors.
