The Portland Timbers and Los Angeles Galaxy played to a thrilling 3-3 draw on Sunday night at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon. The match was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading goals throughout the 90 minutes.
The Timbers opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Diego Valeri found the back of the net from close range. Valeri was able to get on the end of a cross from Sebastián Blanco and put it past Galaxy goalkeeper David Bingham.
The Galaxy responded quickly, equalizing just three minutes later through Uriel Antuna. Antuna was able to get on the end of a cross from Romain Alessandrini and put it past Timbers goalkeeper Steve Clark.
The Timbers took the lead again in the 33rd minute when Blanco scored from a free kick. Blanco curled his shot into the top corner, giving Bingham no chance to make a save.
The Galaxy equalized again in the 63rd minute when Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored from close range. Ibrahimovic was able to get on the end of a cross from Joe Corona and put it past Clark.
The match looked to be heading for a draw until the 87th minute when Timbers defender Julio Cascante scored a dramatic late goal. Cascante was able to get on the end of a cross from Diego Chara and put it past Bingham.
The match ended in a 3-3 draw, with both teams taking a point from the match. It was an entertaining match for the fans in attendance, with plenty of goals and drama throughout the 90 minutes.
The Timbers will now turn their attention to their next match, which is against Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. The Galaxy will also be in action on Saturday night, as they take on FC Dallas.
