McDowell’s Dual-Threat Performance Helps Montana Defeat Idaho State 28-20

Seattle Sports

The Montana Grizzlies were able to defeat the Idaho State Bengals 28-20 on Saturday, thanks in large part to the dual-threat performance of quarterback Dalton McDowell.

McDowell was a force to be reckoned with, completing 17 of his 27 passes for a total of 242 yards and two touchdowns. He also added another 44 yards and a touchdown on the ground, making him the leading rusher for the Grizzlies.

McDowell’s passing was on point throughout the game, as he connected with seven different receivers and spread the ball around. His two touchdown passes went to wide receiver Jerry Johnson and tight end John Smith, both of whom had impressive performances.

On the ground, McDowell was just as impressive. He was able to break off several big runs, including a 24-yard scamper that set up a field goal in the fourth quarter. His 44 rushing yards were more than any other Montana player, and his touchdown run late in the fourth quarter sealed the victory for the Grizzlies.

McDowell’s dual-threat performance was a major factor in Montana’s victory over Idaho State. His ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground kept the Bengals defense guessing all game long, and his big plays late in the game helped the Grizzlies pull away with the win.

Montana will look to continue their winning ways next week when they take on the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. If McDowell can continue to put up similar numbers, the Grizzlies should have no problem coming away with another victory.
