Tragedy has struck the family of former NFL player Sergio Brown after his mother’s body was found near a suburban Chicago creek.
Brown, who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts from 2010-2015, was informed of the news on Tuesday. His mother, who has not been identified, had been missing since Saturday.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the body was found in a creek near the suburb of Palos Heights. The cause of death is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
Brown took to Twitter to express his grief, writing, “My heart is broken. I’m so thankful for all the memories I had with my mom. She was the most loving and caring person I’ve ever known and she will be deeply missed.”
