The small town of McCoy, Idaho, made a huge statement on the football field last night with a dominant win over Nevada. The final score of the game was McCoy 42, Nevada 0.
The McCoy offense was firing on all cylinders from the start of the game. They scored on their first two possessions and never looked back. Quarterback Tyler Johnson had a stellar performance, throwing for three touchdowns and running for another. He was also able to spread the ball around to multiple receivers, including wide receiver Ryan Smith who had two touchdown catches.
The McCoy defense was just as impressive, shutting out the Nevada offense. They forced four turnovers, including two interceptions and two fumbles. Linebacker Jake Miller was a force all night, recording two sacks and a fumble recovery.
The win was a huge confidence boost for the McCoy team, who had lost their last three games. Coach Mark Smith was proud of his team’s performance and said, “I’m really proud of our guys. They worked hard all week and it showed tonight. We have a lot of potential and this win is just the beginning.”
McCoy will look to build on this win as they prepare for their next game against Utah. If they can continue to play at this level, they could be in for a special season.
