The Indianapolis Colts are anxiously awaiting an update on the recovery timeline of running back Jonathan Taylor. Taylor, the rookie out of Wisconsin, was injured in the Colts’ Week 12 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Taylor had been a key part of the Colts offense, leading the team in rushing yards with 858 and scoring seven touchdowns. He had also been a reliable pass-catcher, catching 28 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns.
The injury occurred in the first quarter of the game when Taylor was tackled by Titans safety Kenny Vaccaro. Taylor was immediately taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.
The Colts have not yet released any information on Taylor’s injury or his recovery timeline. However, head coach Frank Reich said that the team is hoping to have an update soon.
“We’re still gathering information on Jonathan’s injury,” Reich said. “We’re hoping to have an update soon, but right now we don’t have any definitive answers.”
The Colts will need Taylor if they hope to make a deep playoff run this season. The team currently sits at 8-4 and is in position to make the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
The team has a number of other running backs on the roster, including Nyheim Hines, Jordan Wilkins, and rookie Michael Warren II. However, none of them have been as productive as Taylor this season.
The Colts will be hoping for good news on Taylor’s recovery timeline so that he can return to the field and help lead the team to a successful postseason.
