The Seattle Storm were unable to come away with a victory on Thursday night, despite a valiant effort from star player Jewell Loyd. The Storm fell to the Indiana Fever, 91-87, in a tightly contested game.
Loyd was the standout performer for the Storm, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter alone. She finished the game with a team-high 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Her fourth-quarter performance was impressive, as she scored nine of the Storm’s final 11 points.
Unfortunately, the Storm were unable to capitalize on Loyd’s fourth-quarter heroics. The Fever responded with a 9-2 run to close out the game and secure the win.
The loss was a tough one for the Storm, who have struggled to find consistency this season. They have now lost three of their last four games and are currently sitting in sixth place in the WNBA standings.
Despite the loss, Loyd’s performance was impressive. She has been one of the most consistent players in the league this season and is a big reason why the Storm have been able to stay competitive.
The Storm will look to bounce back from this loss when they take on the Dallas Wings on Saturday night. They will need another strong performance from Loyd if they are to get back in the win column.
