On Sunday, Martin Truex Jr. won the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway after 30 races. This marks the first win for Truex since his last victory at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in May of 2019.

Truex started the race in the fourth position and was able to take the lead on lap 230. He was able to hold off a hard-charging Denny Hamlin to take the checkered flag. This is Truex’s fourth win of the 2020 season and his 27th career win in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The win was especially meaningful for Truex, who had not won at New Hampshire since 2017. He was able to overcome a pit road penalty and a late-race restart to take the win. Truex dedicated the win to his wife Sherry, who has been battling cancer since 2017.

The win was also a big moment for Joe Gibbs Racing, which has been struggling this season. Truex’s win was the first for JGR since Hamlin won at Darlington in May. It was also the first win for Toyota since Hamlin won at Kansas in July.

Truex now sits second in the points standings, just behind Kevin Harvick. With just three races left in the regular season, Truex will be looking to build on his momentum and make a run for the championship.

It was an emotional day for Truex and his team, and it was great to see him take the checkered flag after 30 races. Congratulations to Martin Truex Jr. on his win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway!
