The Everett AquaSox pulled off an incredible comeback win over the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday night, thanks in large part to the contributions of their top prospects. The AquaSox were trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning when they rallied for four runs to take the lead.
Leading the way for the AquaSox was their top prospect, outfielder Julio Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who is ranked as the number three prospect in the Seattle Mariners organization, came up with a clutch two-run double in the ninth inning to tie the game. He then scored the go-ahead run on a single by fellow prospect Cal Raleigh.
Raleigh, who is ranked as the number seven prospect in the Mariners system, also had a big night at the plate. He finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. He also made a nice running catch in the outfield to help preserve the win.
The AquaSox also got key contributions from another top prospect, infielder Joe Rizzo. Rizzo, who is ranked as the number eight prospect in the Mariners system, went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. He also made a great defensive play in the ninth inning to help keep the game tied.
