Mariners Defeat Rangers 4-0 Behind Gilbert’s Shutout and Ford’s Home Run

Mariners, MLB, Sports Seattle

The Seattle Mariners earned a 4-0 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night, thanks to a stellar performance from starting pitcher Justus Gilbert and a clutch home run from outfielder Kyle Ford.

Gilbert was masterful in his seven innings of work, allowing just two hits while striking out eight batters. He was in complete control throughout the game, and his ability to keep the Rangers off balance was a major factor in the Mariners’ victory.

Ford provided the offensive spark for the Mariners, as he hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to give Seattle a 1-0 lead. It was Ford’s first home run of the season, and it proved to be the difference maker in the game.

The Mariners added three more runs in the top of the seventh inning, thanks to a two-run single from shortstop J.P. Crawford and an RBI single from catcher Tom Murphy. The four runs were more than enough for Gilbert and the Mariners bullpen, as they held on for the 4-0 victory.

The win was a much-needed one for the Mariners, as they had lost six of their last seven games prior to Tuesday night. With Gilbert’s shutout and Ford’s home run, Seattle was able to get back on track and pick up an important win.

The Mariners will look to build on Tuesday night’s victory as they take on the Rangers again on Wednesday night. With another strong performance from Gilbert and some timely hitting from Ford and the rest of the lineup, Seattle could be in line for another win.
