Mariners Defeat White Sox Behind Lance Lynn’s 16 Strikeouts

Mariners, MLB, Sports Seattle

The Seattle Mariners defeated the Chicago White Sox in a thrilling game on Tuesday night, thanks to a dominant performance from starting pitcher Lance Lynn. Lynn struck out a career-high 16 batters in seven innings of work, leading the Mariners to a 5-2 victory.

Lynn was in complete control throughout the game, allowing just two runs on five hits while walking none. He was especially dominant in the first four innings, striking out 10 of the first 13 batters he faced. He also retired the final 11 batters he faced, including the last eight via strikeout.

The Mariners offense provided plenty of support for Lynn, scoring five runs on seven hits. Kyle Seager led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Dee Gordon and Ryon Healy each had an RBI.

The win was the Mariners’ fourth in a row and improved their record to 20-17 on the season. It was also Lynn’s fourth consecutive quality start, as he has now allowed just four earned runs over his last 24 innings pitched.

The White Sox were unable to generate much offense against Lynn, as they managed just two runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez was solid in his own right, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings of work.

The Mariners and White Sox will face off again on Wednesday night, with Seattle looking to extend their winning streak to five games. With Lynn pitching as well as he has been, the Mariners should have a good chance of doing just that.
