On August 5th, 2020, the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced that Lesle Gallimore had been appointed as the new General Manager of OL Reign Soccer Club. This appointment marks a significant milestone in the history of the NWSL, as Gallimore is the first female to be appointed to such a position.
Gallimore is an experienced and accomplished soccer coach, having served as the head coach of the University of Washington women’s soccer team for the past 24 years. During her tenure at the University of Washington, she led the team to four NCAA tournament appearances and was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2006. She also served as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team from 2000-2004.
In her new role as General Manager of OL Reign Soccer Club, Gallimore will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club’s operations, including player personnel, scouting, and team management. She will also be responsible for developing relationships with sponsors and other stakeholders in order to ensure the long-term success of the club.
