The University of Washington Huskies softball team has managed to retain a core group of players despite the loss of key players and leaders. The Huskies, who have been a perennial powerhouse in the Pac-12 conference, have had to adjust to the losses of several key players and leaders from last season.
The Huskies have lost two of their top hitters in Kaitlyn Inglesby and Ali Aguilar, as well as their top pitcher, Taran Alvelo. All three were integral parts of the team’s success last season, and their absence will be felt. However, the Huskies have managed to retain a core group of players that will help them remain competitive in the Pac-12.
The Huskies have brought in several new players to fill the void left by the departing players. These include freshman infielder Sis Bates, who was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season, and junior outfielder Morganne Flores, who was an All-Pac-12 selection in 2017. The Huskies also added two transfers, pitcher Gabbie Plain and outfielder Julia DePonte, who both have experience at the Division I level.
The Huskies also have a strong returning core of players that will help them remain competitive in the Pac-12. These include senior catcher Morganne Flores, who was an All-Pac-12 selection last season, as well as junior infielder Sis Bates and sophomore outfielder Julia DePonte. The Huskies also have a strong pitching staff that includes senior Gabbie Plain and sophomore Taran Alvelo.
Despite the loss of key players and leaders, the Huskies have managed to retain a core group of players that will help them remain competitive in the Pac-12. With a strong returning core and several new additions, the Huskies are poised to make a run at the conference title this season.
