The University of Washington football program has recently seen two of its star players enter the NCAA transfer portal. Siaosi Finau and Aaron Dumas, both defensive linemen, have announced their intentions to explore other options for their college football careers.

Siaosi Finau, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive tackle, was a four-star recruit out of high school and was the No. 4 overall recruit in the state of Washington in the 2020 class. He played in all 12 games as a true freshman for the Huskies and recorded 17 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack.

Aaron Dumas, a 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive end, was also a four-star recruit out of high school and was the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Washington in the 2020 class. He played in 10 games as a true freshman for the Huskies and recorded nine tackles and one tackle for loss.

The news of Finau and Dumas entering the NCAA transfer portal is a big blow to the Huskies’ defense, which was already thin on the defensive line. Both players were expected to be key contributors this season and their departure leaves a big hole in the defensive line depth chart.

It is unclear at this time where Finau and Dumas will end up, but it is likely that they will both end up at Power Five programs. Both players have the talent to be successful at the next level and will be highly sought after by college coaches.

The University of Washington football program wishes both Finau and Dumas the best of luck in their future endeavors and hopes they find success wherever they end up. It will be interesting to see where they land and how they fare at their new schools.
