The Washington State University Cougars had a successful spring football game this past weekend, with their first-team offense leading the way to a Crimson victory. The Cougars’ first-team offense put on a show, scoring four touchdowns in the first half and helping the Crimson to a commanding lead. The Cougars’ defense was also impressive, holding the White team to just two field goals in the first half.
The Cougars’ offense was led by quarterback Anthony Gordon, who threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Gordon was efficient, completing 13 of 17 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown, showing off his dual-threat ability. Running back Max Borghi was also impressive, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He was able to break off several big runs, including a 42-yard touchdown run.
The Cougars’ defense was just as impressive as their offense, holding the White team to just two field goals in the first half. The defense was led by linebacker Jahad Woods, who had seven tackles and two sacks. The secondary also played well, with safety Skyler Thomas recording an interception and cornerback Marcus Strong breaking up two passes.
The Cougars’ first-team offense and defense were both impressive in the spring game, leading the Crimson to a convincing victory. With the talent they have on both sides of the ball, the Cougars look primed to have a successful season this fall. If they can continue to play well on both sides of the ball, they could be a force to be reckoned with in the Pac-12.
