The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its 15 finalists for the 2021 class, and it includes some of the most iconic players in the history of the game. Among them are Julius Peppers and Antonio Gates, two of the most dominant players of their era.
Julius Peppers is a nine-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro defensive end who played for the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay Packers. He is the all-time leader in sacks among active players, with 159.5 over his 17-year career. Peppers was a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line, and his presence was felt in every game he played.
Antonio Gates is a future Hall of Famer who played tight end for the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers for 16 years. He is the all-time leader in receiving touchdowns by a tight end, with 116. Gates was an unstoppable force in the red zone, and his ability to make plays in traffic made him one of the most feared players in the league.
The other 13 finalists for the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame class are Alan Faneca, John Lynch, Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Charles Woodson, Jared Allen, Ronde Barber, Richard Seymour, Zach Thomas, Reggie Wayne, Torry Holt, Sam Mills, and Steve Atwater. These players have all had tremendous careers and have left an indelible mark on the game of football.
