It was an exciting night for Rihanna fans as the Super Bowl halftime show marked both her return to the stage and the announcement that she was pregnant with her second child.

The Grammy award-winning artist’s last performance was in 2019 for her annual charity gala. However, for many fans it has been almost a decade since they’ve seen her perform live during her ANTI World Tour in 2016. ANTI was also the last album Rihanna released before taking a break from music to focus on expanding her brand.

While her music career has been on pause over the past few years, Rihanna has remained in the public eye with her other endeavors. In 2017 she entered the beauty industry with the launch of Fenty Beauty. One year later she launched the lingerie brand Savage X Fenty. Since 2019 she has produced a yearly Savage X Fenty Fashion Show on Amazon Prime which she has enlisted many big names over the years including cameos from Sheryl Lee Ralph, Simu Liu and Cara Delevingne in the most recent volume.

Fans wondered what Rihanna’s 13-minute performance would entail, and whether there would be any guests joining her.

But that speculation quickly changed to another question: Is Rihanna is pregnant again?

A representative for the singer confirmed the news less than an hour after the performance, leaving plenty of time for viewers at home to be in suspense. Within minutes of Rhianna’s performance, “pregnant” was trending on Twitter.

Some fans tried to address the question at hand, but while remaining respectful.

But that wasn’t the only viral moment from Rihanna’s #FentyBowl performance. Her dancers got some meme treatment as well.

And while most of the attention during the halftime show was on Rihanna, those watching at home were also sharing their praise for Rihanna’s ASL interpreter.

Viewers also had some fun, noticing a similarity of Rihanna’s stage to the popular Nintendo video Game “Super Smash Bros.”

Fans pointed out Rihanna made the most of her TV time as an opportunity to do some product placement for Fenty Beauty.

However, when it came down to the performance itself, viewers had mixed reviews and couldn’t help but compare it to previous halftime shows. Rihanna noticeably didn’t have any guest appearances during her set. These cameos have led to many fan favorite moments such as Beyoncé using her 2018 halftime show as a Destiny’s Child reunion.

Because of this, some were left underwhelmed, while others were glad that the performance focused on Rihanna and her music.
