The University of Washington is celebrating a major accomplishment this week as Rome Odunze was named to the Associated Press All-America First Team. Odunze, a junior guard for the Huskies, is the first UW player to receive this honor since Markelle Fultz in 2017.
Odunze has been a standout player for the Huskies since his freshman year. He was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2018 and has been an All-Pac-12 selection each season since then. This season, he averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 44% from the field and 37% from three-point range.
Odunze’s selection to the All-America First Team is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the game. He has been a leader on and off the court for the Huskies and has been instrumental in helping the team reach new heights this season. He has also been a model student-athlete, maintaining a 3.7 GPA while majoring in Human Centered Design & Engineering.
The Associated Press All-America First Team is one of the most prestigious honors in college basketball and Odunze’s selection is a huge accomplishment for both him and the University of Washington. His selection is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the game and is a great example of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication. Congratulations to Rome Odunze on this amazing accomplishment!
