Johnson was the star of the show, leading the way with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. He was able to make key shots down the stretch, including a clutch three-pointer late in the fourth quarter that put the Vikings ahead for good. Johnson also had a key block in the final seconds that sealed the victory for Portland State.
The Vikings were able to take control of the game early on, jumping out to a 10-point lead at halftime. However, the Lancers were able to fight back and take a one-point lead late in the second half. That’s when Johnson stepped up and made his big shot to put the Vikings ahead for good.
The win was a big one for Portland State, as it was their first win of the season. It also marked Johnson’s first career double-double, as he was able to contribute in both scoring and rebounding.
