The Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team had a thrilling victory over the Oregon Ducks in the NCAA Super Regional on Saturday. The Cowboys, who were the visiting team, scored a 5-3 win in the deciding game of the best-of-three series. The victory sends the Cowboys to the College World Series for the first time since 2016.

The Cowboys were led by the performances of two of their stars, pitcher Bryce Wynne and outfielder Carson Kilfoyl. Wynne pitched seven strong innings, allowing just three runs on five hits while striking out eight batters. Kilfoyl was the offensive star of the game, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

The Cowboys jumped out to an early lead in the game, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Kilfoyl drove in the first run with an RBI double and then scored on a wild pitch. The Ducks responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning to tie the game at two.

The Cowboys regained the lead in the top of the fourth inning when Kilfoyl drove in another run with a single. The Ducks threatened to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Wynne was able to get out of the jam and preserve the lead.

The Cowboys added an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning when designated hitter Cade Cabbiness drove in a run with a single. Wynne then closed out the game in the bottom of the ninth, retiring the Ducks in order to secure the win.

The Cowboys’ victory was a total team effort, with Wynne and Kilfoyl leading the way. Wynne’s seven strong innings and Kilfoyl’s three hits and two RBIs were instrumental in securing the win for Oklahoma State. With this win, the Cowboys will now head to Omaha, Nebraska for the College World Series.
